The advantages and disadvantages of reciprocating Biogas Compressors are as follows:

Advantages

1. Wide pressure range: It can work in a wide pressure range from low pressure to high pressure, and can increase the biogas pressure to the required level according to the different needs of biogas utilization, such as meeting the higher intake pressure requirements of the generator in biogas power generation.

2. Flexible flow: It has significant advantages under small flow conditions and is suitable for biogas projects of different sizes. For some small biogas pools or situations where biogas production is unstable, the flow can be flexibly adjusted to meet actual use needs.

3. High energy efficiency: Under appropriate working conditions, the energy efficiency is excellent. Taking 100PSIG as an example, the variable compression efficiency of the reciprocating compressor with two-stage compression can reach about 87%.

4. Good air tightness: When using high-strength design, the overall air tightness is good, which can effectively prevent biogas leakage, not only ensuring the transportation efficiency of biogas, but also improving the safety of use, which is suitable for compressing special process gases such as biogas.

5. Strong adaptability: It has good adaptability to the changes in the properties and composition of biogas. The factors such as gas density have relatively little effect on its performance. It can adapt to biogas from different sources and different components.

6. Mature technology: The design and manufacturing technology are mature, with rich operating experience and perfect technical standards, high product quality and reliability, and a variety of mature products are available on the market.

7. Simple device system: Compared with some other types of compressors, its device system is relatively simple, mainly composed of basic components such as cylinders, pistons, crankshafts, connecting rods, etc., which are easy to understand and operate.

Disadvantages

1. High cost: When the pressure and flow rate overlap with other types of compressors, the unit flow rate of high-strength designed reciprocating compressors is relatively high.

2. Large vibration: Most designs such as vertical and V-type are unbalanced, and different degrees of vibration will occur during operation. The installation base has high requirements, and static and dynamic loads need to be considered, which increases the installation cost and complexity.

3. Complex maintenance: There are many types of parts, and there are many vulnerable parts such as valve plates and piston rings, which need to be replaced regularly. The maintenance cost is high and the time is long, which may affect the continuity of biogas supply.

4. Pressure pulsation: Exhaust is a non-continuous intermittent movement, which will cause obvious pressure pulsation. It is necessary to carefully calculate when designing the pipeline to avoid pressure pulsation from causing losses to the system.

5. Difficult energy consumption monitoring: The condition of vulnerable parts will directly affect energy efficiency. In the absence of testing equipment, it is difficult to monitor in time whether the compressor has increased energy consumption due to internal leakage and other problems.

6. High gas requirements: There are certain requirements for the purity and dryness of biogas. Impurities and moisture may affect the performance and life of the compressor, increasing the demand for biogas pretreatment.

The price of reciprocating biogas compressors is affected by many factors, such as brand, specification, flow, pressure, etc. The approximate price range and the price of some products are as follows:

Small reciprocating biogas compressor: small products with small processing volume and low pressure requirements, the price is generally below 10,000 yuan to about 30,000 yuan. For example, some small piston biogas boosters of Bengbu Aiot are priced as low as 9,888 yuan.

Medium-sized reciprocating biogas compressors: products with medium processing scale, moderate flow and pressure, usually priced between 50,000 and 120,000 yuan. For example, the D-type water-cooled biogas compressor LW-15.6/9 of Liangshan Xinghao Trading has a starting price of 51,000 yuan.

Large reciprocating biogas compressors: large equipment with large processing capacity and high pressure and stability requirements, the price may be above 120,000 yuan, or even higher. For example, Aiot's industrial biogas booster VW-4.3/16 is priced at 186,000 yuan.
