Different biogas utilization industries have different requirements for Biogas Compressors, as follows:
Biogas power generation industry
Pressure requirements: It is usually necessary to increase the biogas pressure to a certain range. Generally, the biogas pressure of 0-100mbar coming out of the biogas tank should be increased to about 3-12bar to meet the intake pressure requirements of the gas generator and ensure the stable operation of the generator.
Flow requirements: According to the power size of the generator set, the corresponding biogas flow is required to maintain power generation. Large generator sets require compressors to have a large exhaust volume to continuously supply sufficient biogas.
Stability requirements: In order to ensure the continuity and stability of power generation, the compressor needs to have a high degree of reliability, be able to operate stably for a long time, and reduce downtime.
Explosion-proof performance requirements: Biogas is a flammable and explosive gas. The compressor must have good explosion-proof performance, and all electrical components, motors, etc. must meet explosion-proof standards.
Biogas heating industry
Pressure requirements: Generally, the biogas pressure is increased to a working pressure range suitable for heating equipment such as boilers, usually around 0.5-2bar, to ensure that the biogas can be stably transported to the heating equipment.
Flow regulation requirements: According to the changes in heating demand, the biogas flow rate can be flexibly adjusted. During the peak and trough periods of heating, the compressor should be able to increase or decrease the exhaust volume accordingly.
Cleanliness requirements: Although not as high as the requirements of the biogas purification industry, the compressor is also required to filter and purify the biogas to reduce the impact of impurities on the heating equipment and extend the service life of the equipment.
Safety requirements: It is necessary to be equipped with complete safety protection devices, such as pressure safety valves, temperature protection devices, etc., to prevent safety accidents caused by excessive pressure and temperature.

Biogas purification industry
Pressure requirements: Depending on the purification process and subsequent applications, the pressure requirements vary. Generally, in the process of removing impurities such as carbon dioxide from biogas, the biogas pressure needs to be increased to about 1-5bar to facilitate the separation and purification of the gas in the purification equipment.
Gas purity requirements: The materials and seals inside the compressor must ensure that they will not cause secondary pollution to the biogas and affect the purification effect. At the same time, it has certain filtering and separation functions, which can initially remove moisture, particulate impurities, etc. in the biogas.
Compression accuracy requirements: high accuracy requirements for compression ratio and pressure control to ensure the stability and efficiency of the purification process and improve the recovery rate and purity of methane.
Corrosion resistance requirements: carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and other components in biogas are corrosive to a certain extent. The compressor needs to use corrosion-resistant materials, such as stainless steel, corrosion-resistant coatings, etc., to extend the service life of the equipment.
Compressors suitable for different biogas utilization industries
Biogas power generation industry
Reciprocating compressors: wide pressure range, can meet the different inlet pressure requirements of generators, in small and medium-sized biogas power generation projects, can flexibly provide biogas with the required pressure and flow. For example, Bengbu Aiot's ZW-2.5/3 reciprocating biogas compressor can be used for biogas boosting to meet power generation needs.
Screw compressors: stable and efficient operation, can continuously supply stable flow and pressure biogas to generator sets for a long time, suitable for large-scale biogas power generation projects. For example, Yadiqin's fully explosion-proof containerized biogas variable frequency screw compressor provides stable gas supply for biogas power generation in Hainan Chengmai Automotive Biogas Plant.
Biogas heating industry
Roots compressor: It has good performance under low pressure and high flow conditions. It can flexibly adjust the flow according to the heating demand. It is suitable for heating scenarios that do not require high biogas pressure but require high flow delivery, such as supplying biogas to biogas boilers for centralized heating in residential areas.
Reciprocating compressor: It has a large adjustable pressure range and can increase the biogas pressure to a suitable range according to the actual needs of the heating equipment. It is more suitable for small biogas heating projects or heating systems with high pressure regulation accuracy requirements.
Biogas purification industry
Screw compressor: It has strong adaptability to gas and can handle biogas containing impurities and high humidity. The gas temperature is relatively low during the compression process, which is conducive to the subsequent purification process. It is widely used in biogas purification biogas projects.
Diaphragm compressor: It has good sealing performance and will not pollute biogas. It can ensure the purity of purified biogas. It is suitable for biogas purification applications with extremely high gas purity requirements, such as the production of high-purity biomethane for fuel cells and other fields.
