A variety of equipment is required in the process of biogas compression and utilization, mainly including biogas production equipment, purification equipment, compression equipment, storage and transportation equipment, etc. The following is a detailed introduction:

Biogas production equipment

Biogas tank or anaerobic fermentation tank: This is the core equipment for biogas production, providing a place for anaerobic fermentation of organic matter. According to different raw materials and production scales, there are different structures and materials, such as concrete biogas tanks, steel structure anaerobic fermentation tanks, etc.

Mixing equipment: In order to make the raw materials in the biogas tank or fermentation tank fully contact with microorganisms and improve the fermentation efficiency, it is necessary to equip mixing equipment, such as mechanical agitators, hydraulic agitators or gas agitators, etc.

Feed and discharge equipment: including feed pumps, discharge pumps, feed pipes and discharge pipes, etc., which are used to transport the fermentation raw materials to the biogas tank or fermentation tank, and discharge the fermented slag and liquid.

Desulfurization equipment

Dry desulfurizer: It contains desulfurizers such as iron oxide and activated carbon. When biogas passes through, hydrogen sulfide reacts with the desulfurizer and is removed.

Wet desulfurization tower: alkaline solution or oxidizing solution is used as desulfurizer. Biogas enters from the bottom of the tower and contacts with the desulfurizer solution from top to bottom in countercurrent. Hydrogen sulfide is absorbed and removed.

Dehydration equipment

Cooling dehydrator: The temperature of biogas is reduced by cooling device, so that the water vapor in it condenses into water droplets, and the water is separated and discharged through separator.

Adsorption dryer: Adsorbents such as silica gel and molecular sieve are used to adsorb water in biogas to achieve the purpose of dehydration.

Carbon dioxide removal equipment

Chemical absorption tower: Alkaline solutions such as alcohol amines react chemically with carbon dioxide to absorb and remove carbon dioxide.

Membrane separation device: Using special polymer membranes, carbon dioxide is separated according to the different permeation rates of carbon dioxide and methane in the membrane.

Biogas compression equipment

Compressor: It is the key equipment for biogas compression. Commonly used ones include piston compressors, screw compressors and centrifugal compressors, etc., which are selected according to factors such as biogas flow, pressure requirements and site conditions.

Cooling system: including cooling water pump, cooling tower, cooling pipe, etc., used to cool the heated biogas during the compression process to ensure the normal operation of the compressor and the quality of the biogas.

Buffer tank: installed at the outlet of the compressor, used to stabilize the pressure and flow of the compressed biogas and reduce pressure fluctuations.

Biogas storage and transportation equipment

Gas storage equipment

High-pressure gas storage tank: used to store compressed biogas, with different structures such as spherical and cylindrical, can withstand high pressure, and can choose different specifications according to storage volume and usage requirements.

Gas cylinder group: composed of multiple high-pressure gas cylinders, which can be used for temporary storage or transportation of small amounts of compressed biogas.

Transportation equipment

CNG tank truck: a vehicle specially used to transport compressed biogas, which transports compressed biogas from the production site to the use site, such as a gas station or industrial user.

Pipeline system: For large-scale biogas utilization, a biogas transmission pipeline can be built to transport compressed biogas to different user terminals. The pipeline system includes pipelines, valves, pressure regulating devices, etc.

In addition, in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the entire biogas compression and utilization system, it is also necessary to equip detection and control equipment, such as gas composition detectors, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, flow meters and corresponding automatic control systems, to monitor and control the parameters of each link in real time.
